Katie Schanz

ATTORNEY

Katie’s practice focuses on the representation of utilities, wireless, and telecommunications companies in all aspects of lease and contract negotiations, real estate transactions and related litigation. She has assisted clients in negotiating agreements for land leases for telecommunications towers, colocations on existing towers and transmission poles, DAS/IBRD Systems, small cell nodes, and fiber easements. Katie also has a background in environmental and natural resources law and advises clients on environmental issues related to real estate transactions and telecommunications contracts. Katie also has experience in addressing title issues affecting telecommunications leases.

 

Prior to joining Rogers Lewis, Katie was Legislative Counsel for the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and a staff attorney for the South Carolina Senate Public Utilities Review Committee. Katie received her undergraduate degree from Clemson University and attended law school at the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Southeastern Environmental Law Journal. Katie also received a Master of Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School. Katie is a board member of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital Foundation and is a member the Junior League of Columbia.
